Zurich Kotak Bundles SME Risks Under One Platform

Zurich Kotak bundles SME risk

Zurich Kotak General Insurance has launched Business Secure Plus, a digital-first platform that brings multiple business covers together and enables SMEs to manage insurance through a single interface.

Zurich Kotak General Insurance (ZKGI) has launched Business Secure Plus, a digital insurance proposition designed to simplify risk protection for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in India.

The platform runs on Zurich Edge, Zurich’s technology stack, and covers the full insurance journey from quotation and purchase to servicing, referrals and underwriting. Businesses can customise coverage and premiums according to their risk profiles, with policy issuance possible within minutes.

One platform for multiple insurance risks

Business Secure Plus brings several insurance covers under one package. The available options include Fire and Special Perils, Burglary and Housebreaking, Electronic Equipment, All Risk, Fidelity Guarantee, Directors and Officers Liability, Employee Compensation, Money and Machinery Breakdown.

The bundled approach aims to reduce the need for SMEs to manage separate policies for different risks. ZKGI said the proposition can help businesses access customised protection while simplifying transactions and policy servicing.

SMEs contribute nearly 30% of India’s GDP, according to industry information cited by ZKGI and other reports. However, businesses can face challenges when they manage different insurance policies across multiple risks and locations. The new platform seeks to address some of that complexity through a unified digital experience.

Digital tools target faster insurance access

The platform allows businesses to complete several stages of the insurance process through a single interface. ZKGI says customers can obtain quotes, purchase policies and access servicing capabilities digitally.

The company also plans to expand Business Secure Plus with additional products, covers, risk solutions and technology capabilities. This could allow the platform to address a wider range of SME requirements over time.

The launch reflects the broader push towards digital insurance distribution in India, particularly for commercial customers seeking quicker transactions and more flexible coverage.

ZKGI operates as a 70:30 joint venture between Zurich Insurance Group and Kotak Mahindra Bank. The insurer offers non-life insurance products across retail and commercial segments.

With Business Secure Plus, the insurer is combining multiple commercial risks with digital underwriting and servicing capabilities. The approach could also give SMEs a more streamlined way to review and manage their business protection as their insurance needs change.
