MyRupia’s privacy policy outlines how we (Myrupia.in) collect, use, store, transfer, or share your personal data each time you visit our websites or use our services. It puts forward the security practices and procedures adopted by MyRupia. It is in conjunction with the Terms of Use that customers consent to when registering themselves on MyRupia or availing our services.
Your Rights
The Government of India notified the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules 2025 in November, 2025. As per the amended rules, customers can exercise the following rights with regard to their digitally shared personal information:
- Demand clarity from organisations as to how exactly their PII is being used
- Safeguard their personal data and restrict unauthorised usage or surveillance
- Consent or withdraw consent based on the purpose of data processing
- Access, correct, or erase their personal data on digital platforms
- Submit their grievances and receive reparations for the same
- Demand that breach notifications be shared with them promptly
- Nominate someone on their behalf to exercise their data protection rights
- People with disabilities can appoint their lawful guardian or nominate someone as well

What Information We Collect
Here’s what MyRupia may collect from you.
Information Shared by You
- Your name, email address, and phone number at the time of registration.
- Information shared by you when completing your profile on MyRupia, such as date of birth, profile pictures, gender, medical history, relationship status, educational details and employment details.
- Information shared by you when signing up for MyRupia’s newsletters or email.
- Communication made through email or other mediums and documents shared via them, such as consultation notes, are also stored for record-keeping purposes.
Uploaded Policy Documents
- Medical records, insurance policy papers, discharge summaries or private details are stored securely.
- Official documents or identity proof, such as photocopies of Aadhaar card, PAN card, and passport, uploaded on our platform are also kept safe.
Usage Data
- Information about your browser, your computer, and your IP address is collected and stored safely. This may also include your geographical location, browser type, version, and operating system.
- Data collected on the length of your visit to the website, page views, and website navigation paths are collected through standard analytics and stored securely.
How We Use Your Information
The information collected from you is used for multiple purposes.
Effective Communication
Customer/user data is used to understand visitors and interested customers. It is applied to respond to inquiries by interested parties to the page and to communicate relevant service-related information to customers and visitors.

Data collected from users through standard analytics is used to connect potential or existing policyholders with the right type of insurance advisor. It is used to put you in touch with a consultant best-suited to resolve your problems.
Important Note: What We Do Not Do
MyRupia does not use your information in a way that you haven’t consented to.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- We do not share your personal information with agents or insurance companies.
- We do not use your personal information to send targeted ads.
MyRupia is not intended for use by children or minors. Parents are requested to ensure that Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is not shared by children on our website.
Retention of Information & Data Security
MyRupia does not retain PII for longer than is necessary. Moreover, information collected is used only for the purpose that the customer has been informed of. All policy documents uploaded by a customer for scanning are deleted after [X days] unless consented to for longer storage. Customers may request the deletion of PII at any time by contacting us at [email address].
Additionally, MyRupia takes reasonable technical and operational measures to prevent the loss, misuse, or modification of customers’ data entrusted to us. We abide by the standard data protection laws in India. We use industry-standard encryption and access controls for storing and using information.
