PNB MetLife Declares Record ₹1,210 Crore Bonus for 5.51 Lakh Policyholders

PNB MetLife bonus 2026

PNB MetLife has announced its highest annual bonus for participating policies, extending a run of larger declarations in recent years. The FY26 bonus will benefit about 5.51 lakh policyholders, with eligible policies required to have been in force on March 31, 2026.

PNB MetLife India Insurance Company has declared an annual bonus of about ₹1,210 crore for participating policies for FY26, 16.25% higher than the ₹1,041 crore announced for the previous financial year. The insurer said eligible policies had to be in force as of March 31, 2026. The declaration covers 5,51,642 participating policies, according to PNB MetLife’s official disclosure. The FY26 announcement marks another increase in the overall bonus amount, even as the number of participating policies covered by the latest declaration is lower than the previous year.

FY26 Bonus Extends a Multi-Year Increase

The latest declaration is about ₹169 crore higher than the previous year’s ₹1,041.45 crore bonus. In FY25, PNB MetLife’s bonus had increased 12% from ₹930 crore and benefited more than 5.68 lakh eligible participating policyholders.

Managing Director and CEO Sameer Bansal said the FY26 declaration reflected the strength of the company’s participating funds and its approach to creating long-term value for policyholders. The insurer said the latest bonus was supported by the performance of its participating fund during FY26.

The increase also continues a long run of annual declarations. PNB MetLife said in its FY25 announcement that it had declared bonuses on participating policies for 22 consecutive years. The latest declaration comes in the year the insurer marked 25 years of operations in India.

Bonus Structure Varies Across Participating Products

The form of the bonus depends on the product and option selected. The declaration covers products including the cash bonuses, if declared, are payable under its Super Income and Smart Income options, while simple reversionary bonuses can accrue under the Future Income option. The company’s bonus schedules set out the applicable rates across eligible participating products.

For policyholders covered by the declaration, the effect of the FY26 bonus will depend on how bonuses are structured under their specific plan, including whether they are paid as cash benefits or accrue under the policy.
